Málaga by Season — What the Calendar Turns On
Málaga keeps one of the strongest festival calendars in Andalusia, and it runs the full year.
Semana Santa fills the old town's streets with processions that whole barrios spend the year preparing. The August feria takes over the centre by day and the fairground by night — the city's principal week, and its most crowded. Spring brings the film festival, when the city briefly becomes Spain's cinema capital, and New Year's Eve is famously eaten grape by grape on the beach as often as in any square.
