The Alcázar and Santa Cruz — A Walk
Sevilla's centre holds three eras within five minutes of each other: the Almohad minaret that carries a Renaissance belfry, the largest Gothic cathedral anywhere built around both, and a royal palace — the Alcázar — that has been continuously inhabited by rulers from the twelfth century to today.
The walk takes the palace and its gardens, then loses itself deliberately in Santa Cruz, the old judería whose lanes were designed to break the sun and keep the water moving. It ends where the city itself looks back at you: from the river, or from the top of the Giralda.
Alcázar and Cathedral entries are timed and sold separately, and in season they book out well ahead. Tell us your slot and the walk is arranged in that order.
