The Alcazaba and the Old Town — A Walk
Málaga is usually met as a beach city with an airport. Walked from its centre, it is one of the oldest continuously lived cities in Europe — Phoenician below, Roman at the theatre, Nasrid above.
The walk climbs the Alcazaba, the eleventh-century fortress-palace that predates the Alhambra it would later inspire, then comes down into the old town — the cathedral they never finished, the market gate that was once a shipyard, and the streets that still hold the shape the medina gave them.
