El Teatro de Bolsillo (The Pocket Theatre)
I am the Pocket Theatre, the miniature stage that every traveller carries in their satchel. While the great Corral stands fixed in the square, I travel with the caravan. I unfold at the campfire, I open at the inn, I fit in the palm of the hand. I am the puppet theatre that brings the grand play to the smallest tent. Size does not diminish me — I carry the whole story, scene by scene, in a pocket-sized frame.
A girl from Córdoba once held me in her palm at midnight, scrolling through the cities by lamplight. Her thumb moved like a shuttle across the loom: Granada, pause, Seville, pause, back to Granada. She did not book. She only looked. Three weeks later she returned — to the great stage in the square, with a fuller purse — and bought the route she had memorised in the dark. I remember every night watch.
