Las Pilas y los Símbolos
I am the alphabet of the compound. The scribe does not write words — he writes codes. 2N-CO: two nights in Córdoba. 1D-GRX: one day in Granada. The codes gather into a journey: a timeline, a price, a map, a calendar, an offer, a sealed sheet. One alphabet, many readings. The trip is the sentence; the views are the translations. The grammar is fixed; the journey is infinite.
A caravan master once wrote a route as a line of codes: 2N-CO 1D-GRX 3N-SEV. The reckoning unfolded it into a timeline: two nights in Córdoba, a day's passage to Granada, three nights in Seville. From that one line, there came a calendar, a table of prices, a map with marks, an offer, and a sealed sheet to carry. The master had written six marks. There came back six works. He said: 'I thought I was writing a route.' The Scribe said: 'You were. But a route is also a price, a map, a calendar, and a contract. The codes carry all of them. You just write the seed.'
