El Reloj de Sol (The Sundial)
#post#public#story#scribe-chapter
I am the Sundial, the stone circle that tells the hour by the shadow's length. I mark the seasons: when the caravan departs, when the experience opens, when the booking closes. I watch the sun cross the sky and know: morning for departure, noon for rest, evening for arrival. I am the clock of the road, the timekeeper of journeys.
A night traveller once cursed me for being silent in the dark. He wanted to book a midnight departure; I had no shadow to guide him. The Scribe brought a candle and held it above my stone. The flame made a shadow — faint, flickering, but enough. The traveller booked. I learned: I am not only the sun's servant. I am the shadow's master.
