La Paloma Mensajera (The Carrier Pigeon)
#post#public#story#scribe-chapter
I am the Carrier Pigeon, the bird that carries secret messages between distant towers. I fly from the traveller's window to the guide's rooftop, from the merchant's loft to the steward's battlement. I bear questions and answers, complaints and resolutions, praise and thanks. I am the private post, the winged courier of the compound.
A pigeon once returned with a message soaked in rain. The ink had bled into a blue flower pattern. The recipient, a lady in Cádiz, framed the page and hung it in her salon. 'It is the most beautiful letter I have ever received,' she wrote. The Pigeon does not control the weather. But it controls the memory of the weather.
